I haven’t so much as peeked at my blog over the last couple of weeks. I’ve been dealing with boxes, boxes, and more boxes. Oh my, the boxes! Fifty-five at last count, in fact. I’ve also filled four garbage bags with trash (I loathe clutter). Said bags sat politely in my kitchen all day, since it is forbidden to stack trash at the curb prior to 5pm the night before pick up (I once found a city employee picking through our garbage, looking for some piece of mail so as to fine me for violating this rule).
Tomorrow morning, bright and early, we begin the transition to our new life in New York. And although this is a good move, a great move, I find myself feeling a tad emotional. There have been so many lasts over the past week. Last visit to Titus Sparrow Park (our favorite). Last brunch at the South End Buttery (another favorite). Last playgroup (the most favorite of all). I’m sure we’ll be back to Boston, in the future. But a weird thing happens when you leave a place. It ceases to be your city, anymore. No matter how many times I return, it’s never going to be the same. It’ll never be mine. I’ll always be a visitor.
So goodbye, Boston. When I came here last year, I had no idea I’d become so attached to this City, and the people I’d meet.
(Did I mention that the best thing about blogging is that no one can see you blubbering like a fool?)
On another note, I was thrilled to see a whole 34 comments on my last blog post! Alas, it seems that un-manned blogs are an open invitation to spammers. Amongst the *gems* left for me – “penis enlargement July 20, 2010 at 4:00 pm

It’s good to know that you are on the up ‘n up with all the latest research on penis enlargement and the Russian mafia before your big move to NYC. Because you might be wholly unprepared otherwise.
But seriously, very excited for you and feeling your nostalgia as well. It is wierd to say goodbye, but at least it isn’t so far that you can’t visit often! Big hugs. xoxoxoxo
I was thinking maybe the Russian maffia kidnapped you and that’s why you’ve been so MIA. Glad to hear you’re not the newest mail order bride. It’s bittersweet to leave a place you love, but let me give you an insider tip, New York will kick Boston’s ass everyday of the week, and that’s not just because I’m a born and bred Yankee fan.

Two fantastic cities! I lived in Boston for two years and get nostalgic whenever I see the Charles on t.v… And my husband is from NY and still misses it. Seattle’s a bit mellow for him.
Btw, your spammers are much more creative than mine. Mine usually say something like: “Great informative information! Check out Juicy clothing deals at etc.etc.com!
