Do you ever feel like you’re the one with the least clue…even though everyone expects you to have the most?

So, obviously, since we just moved and there are boxes and such everywhere, I would know (somehow) where everything is. Even though no one else (The Husband) has any clue where to find anything. Obviously. It’s been continual over the last week. “Do you know where _____ is?” he’ll ask. I don’t mean to get twitchy, but it’s making me want to drive a fork through my eye (metaphorically, of course). To top things off we’ve just returned from vacation. Last night The Husband asked me where his toothpaste was. “In my black bag,” I replied. He returned upstairs with three ziploc baggies (I’m neurotic and put everything in a baggie, then into my travel case). Three of the wrong ziploc baggies. Never-mind that they’re see-through (so you can tell which one has the toothpaste in it). That, my friends, is why men don’t pack or unpack toiletries in this house.

It’s not so much that I mind being the keeper of all “things”. I’ve pretty much accepted it’s my lot. In fact, I’m sure in a previous life I was a cave-woman, instructing her  husband as to where he stored the woolly mammoth tusk (under the fern). Plus (as The Husband wisely points out), I’m also the storer (yes, that’s a made up word) of all “things”. I put stuff away and don’t really tell him (oops!) It’s just that with the chaos everywhere, I’m losing it too.

When, oh when will I emerge from this pile?

Oh, and as a side-note, if you love painting, and live in the NYC area, do I have a project for you!

Oh I feel for you! We are leaving on vacation on Saturday and I said to my husband how I was so not looking forward to packing. He commented that it was no big deal. I so wanted to let him handle it but know that if he did we’d arrive at the beach with all the wrong things.

That’s the way it is at my house too. My husband can never seem to find anything. Especially when it is right in front of his face.
You’d think they would just start looking in the obvious places, but they don’t seem to possess the ability.

Can I just tell you THIS MORNING my hubby couldn’t find his ID for work. Of course I was suppose to know where it was at. 30 minutes of searching and we found it in the car door… of the car he NEVER takes to work. Yeah, ummmm, I don’t know!
