It isn’t too often that I get really dressed up. I have half a closet full of formal wear that’s completely outdated; relics from another era in my life. A time that wasn’t necessarily more fun, but certainly better rested. Several years ago I decided to change my strategy, and stop investing in pieces that weren’t going to make it for the long haul. I joined Rent the Runway in May of 2009, shortly after the company launched, and have been a loyal customer since. In fact, I recommend it to just about everyone who is in the market for anything fancy. I love being able to indulge in something beautiful without the cost or even dry cleaning investment. It’s an affordable way to attain a little piece of luxury.
We had a wedding Saturday afternoon; a black tie event. I found this dress on Thursday night, and arranged for delivery on Friday. It couldn’t have been easier. I also rented the earrings and clutch. The day ended up being glorious, and I felt fabulous. Yesterday I shoved the entire thing in an envelope and dropped it in a mail box (yes, a mail box).
Now, if I could just rent a few extra hours of sleep!
This post was not sponsored; I am just a huge fan of Rent the Runway.
