Every so often I get an itch to make changes in my home decor. Sometimes just a little tweak – new art or photos, an updated rug – can make all the difference. Case in point: I’m in the process of working with HP and Walmart to make my walls pretty and give Cleo a little more love (reveal post coming soon).
Gemma’s in Pre-Kindergarten this year, and I’m really in awe of how much she’s changed. It’s not like we still don’t have our moments, of course (related: they usually happen in public). But when I look back on where she began her school journey two years ago (complete with tears and adjustment bumps) it’s really incredible.
The last time I did anything with Gemma’s room was around a year ago, when we swapped out the crib for a bed (at her request). Other than that most everything has stayed the same; the colors, what’s on the walls, and everything else. I’ve realized it’s time for a few changes.
I have a yellow bureau (painted by my mother), and a rug from West Elm (pictured below). I’d like to keep these items as a base, and add a few prints, textures, and accessories. With a little bit of work, I think this room will be fit for a princess. Or a queen, perhaps.
