A few months ago, when Cleo was still tiny and snuggly, Baby Bjorn invited me to test out their new Baby Carrier One. I didn’t even hesitate. In those early months of having two children, I found wearing Cleo incredibly convenient.
Then, she started to move.
When I received my shipment from Baby Bjorn last week, I was skeptical. I had attempted to wear Cleo just a few weeks prior, and she was literally jumping out of the thing (literally. At Trader Joe’s). My husband looked at the package and laughed. I know the laws of life and the universe say that your second child should be the relaxed one. The “go with the flow” one. The “easy” one. Well, I would not classify either of my children as “relaxed” – much less Cleo. She is small and and she is wild.
Still, I figured it was worth a try. We had a birthday party at Whitepost Farms this past weekend. I left my stroller, packed the Bjorn, said a quick prayer, and accepted the inevitable – Cleo would be dragging herself through a pumpkin patch in a few short hours.
Imagine my surprise, then, that she actually enjoyed it. The Baby Carrier One is a multifunctional front and back carrier. It has an adjustable design with padded shoulder straps and a waist belt to relieve pressure. I wore Cleo facing out – which she enjoyed immensely. I think she felt involved and aware (wher ultimate goal), and after several hours in the great outdoors – feeding goats, rabbits, and even indulging in a hay ride – my back still felt great. The Baby Carrier One has already become a staple in my diaper bag.
Now, here’s the good news. I’m giving away a Baby Bjorn Baby Carrier One – due to hit store shelves October 1 – to one lucky reader. All you need to do is enter in the rafflecopter below. Good luck!
